Valar Atomics raises a $1.0B round

Valar Atomics is an energy startup based in El Segundo, Calif. which aims to produce low-cost, carbon neutral synthetic fuels by leveraging atomic energy. Valar’s proprietary technology will generate synthetic fuels such as aviation fuel, diesel, and natural gas from atmospheric carbon dioxide and water, using mass-manufactured nuclear reactors as the energy source for the reactions. The company aims to sell its synthetic fuels as drop-in replacements for naturally extracted petroleum at a lower price than conventional products from the oil and gas industry.
