Safe Superintelligence raises a $3.0B round

Safe Superintelligence is an artificial intelligence research lab focused on developing safe AI systems. Co-founded by OpenAI’s former chief scientist Ilya Sutskever, the startup aims to address growing concerns about the potential harm of AI technology. Within just three months of its founding, it successfully raised $1 billion to enhance its capabilities. The company is based in Palo Alto, California.

Atoms raises a $1.7B round

Atoms is Travis Kalanick's industrial automation and robotics company, built out of his CloudKitchens holding company (rebranded Atoms in 2026) and the acquisition of Anthony Levandowski's automation firm Pronto. It builds physical automation for food, mining, and transport — software-controlled robotics to digitize and automate heavy industry. The $1.7B round was led by Andreessen Horowitz, with Ben Horowitz joining the board.
